X-rays confirmed that Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey has a broken bone in his left hand and will be sidelined for the early portion of the season.
This is very unfortunate news for Quincey who seemed primed to step in to a major role with the Wings this year, after filling in admirably towards the end of last season and into the playoffs. He actually incurred the injury earlier in the month during intraquad scrimmages and will now likely go down to the AHL for some time when he returns from the injury.
